Task 8: Funding Report
Report on the Funding Options for Escape to Hong Kong Island
The following is a report on the two funding options available to our new game Escape to Hong Kong Island.
To start with, the first funding option we can consider is Gamezstart, a well-known funding website for board games. By using Gamezstart, we get to advertise our game and attract investors from all over the world as it is a global website that allows broad game developers to raise money from anywhere in the world. Another advantage of Gamezstart is the flexibility it offers as we can set the target needed produce our game. However, one drawback of using Gamezstart is that our game will be ignored if at the same time another big company is raising fund for their project on Gamezstart. Also, we may have to abandon the project if we fail to reach the target. Moreover, international shipping can be expensive for board games when we have to ship our broad games to our investors.
Another funding option available for us is that Acron Grant, which is sponsored by Melaka Bank. We can receive HK$ 250, 000 as a one-time award if we win the grant. Moreover, Acron Grant will provide us with financial and advertising advice for a year after we win the grant. Nevertheless, it is very difficult to win the grant since 287 companies applied last year and there was only one winner. More importantly, we value our independence and we do not want others to control us, but Acron Grant is known for wanting to control everytiing.
Based the advantages and disadvantages for the two funding options mentioned above, we can consider them carefully and then proceed to make the final decision for the funding options we would like to choose to fund our game.

Task 10: Email to Artist
Subject: Feedback on the Artwrok for Escape to Hong Kong Isalnd
Dear Mr. Au,
Thank you for creating the artwork for Escape to Hong Kong Island, and we really appreciate your effort and hard work. In this email, I am writing to provide you some feedback on the art work.
To start with, regarding the artwork on the map, we received a lot of positive response from the majority of the teenagers and parents based on a survey we conducted, and both teenagers and parents loved the artwork on the map.
In terms of the art on the cards, most of the teenagers loved it, but the majority of parents had a negative response to that since they thought it has too much blood. Usually, it’s the parents who have the final say in whether the game will be bought, so parents will not buy the game if the art work it is too graphic or violent.
With regard to the text on the map, unfortunately majority of both parents and teenagers said that it wasn’t really easy to read the text on the map, and they thought that the colour of the text needs to be darker.
In conclusion, based on the feedback above, could you please make the changes to the text on the map as well as the artwork on the cards? We would really appreciate that if you can complete all the changes by 27th April. Again, thank you for creating the artwork for us, and we look forward to seein the updated versions of your work.
Regards,
Sammy Tsang
