Subject: Invitation to be the speaker at the Opening Event of the Asian Games Week
Dear Mr. Brown,
As the president of the Healthy Living Club at Ballater High School, I am writing to invite you to be the guest speaker at the Opening Event of the Asian Games Week at our school.
First of all, the details of the event are as follows. The event is on 13th October from 2:00 pm to 3:15pm at the main hall, and the speech topic is going to be about why ultimate frisbee should be added to the Asian Games. After the speech, we will have a discussion about your sport, and there will be questions from students as our studnets wanted to learn more about ultimate frisbee.
Ultimate Frisbee was chosen to be the focus on this speech for the opening event because this sport got the highest number of votes in a survey conducted at our school. Also, our students think ultimate frisbee is fun to play and exciting to watch.
To show that we value your time and effort to be our speaker, we can offer you a payment of 1000 dollars for this event. We sincerely hope that you will accept this invitation, and please contact me if you have any more questions about the arrangement for being the speaker at the Opening Event of the Asian Games Week. We look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your attention.
Regards,
Nico Lin

Task 7: Presentation Script
Hello, everyone! Are you all ready for the quiz event? But before we start the quiz event today, let me first give you some hints by going over some information and details of Asian Games with you all. How does that sound? Awesome, right!
To begin with, the Asian Games was first held in 1951. On top of that, three major asian cities, Hangzhou, Incheon and Doha have all hosted the Asian Games before. In terms of the sports that have featured in Asian Games, long-distance running, chess and even e-sports have been included in the Asian Games.
Now, let me tell you something about the mascots for the Asian Games. In 2022, the mascots for the Hangzhou Asian Games were three futuristic robot characters. For the 2026 Nagoya Asian Games, the mascot will be a tigerfish, which means ‘flame’ in Japanese.
Promoting health and environmental awareness is also part and parcel of the Asian Games. For instance, there will be a ‘walk for funb’ campaign in Nagoya 2026 to promote health awwreness and get the public walking mroe. Another example is that the organisers of Incheon 2014 collected rainwater for the athletes and participants in order to promote environmental awareness adn reduce water consumption.
Last but not least, let me give you some information on how Hong Kong’s recent performance in Asian Games. In 2022, Hong Kong won 53 medals at the Asian Games in Hangzhou. 53 medals in total! Can you imagine that? That’s definitely a stunning performance, and I feel proud of our Hong Kong athletes!
